Last Wednesday, the Arkansas House brought HB 2007—a bill to require that the written portion of state driver’s license exams must be administered in no languages other than English—to the floor for an up-or-down vote.   On the first attempt, the vote was 49 to 37 and fell short of the necessary 51 votes (a majority) required to pass legislation in the Arkansas state legislature.

Two days later, on Friday, March 25th, the House tried a second time to pass HB 2007, but that vote failed again—49 to 40—just two votes short of the needed 51.
