More Info

Thank you for all your calls to your senators!

Last week, we alerted you that SB 590, was headed to the Indiana Senate floor for a vote, and on Tuesday, the Senate passed SB 590 by a vote of 31 to 18 (Roll Call 253).

SB 590 contained English provisions that simply provided implementation rules to enforce the 27-year-old official English law of Indiana.

SB 590 requires that only English be used—with certain exceptions such as in cases of public health—in public meetings, public documents, by officers and employees of state or political subdivisions in performing their duties, and providing information communicated electronically by the state or a political subdivision.

Now, the bill moves over to the Indiana House!

Please begin calling and emailing your state representative to support SB 590
– let's send this important bill to the Governor's desk!
