The cloture vote to proceed to debate of the Defense Authorization bill will occur at 2:15pm today.

As we explained last week, defeating the cloture vote is the only way to prevent Harry Reid from offering the DREAM Act!  Often times, when cloture cannot be invoked because opposition to certain measures within the bill are so high, the Majority Leader will agree to drop certain objectionable provisions.  Our goal is for Harry Reid to drop his plans to add the DREAM Act.

The DREAM Act (S. 729, or the Development, Relief, and Education for Aliens Minors Act) will grant amnesty to millions of non-English-speaking and limited-English-proficient illegal aliens without requiring specific steps to learn English.  This will dramatically increase demands for taxpayer-funded multilingual government services, such as multilingual voting ballots, driver's license tests in multiple languages, translations for official documents and school textbooks, and government-mandated interpreters.

TAKE ACTION!

Call your two Senators now and tell them to vote NO on cloture unless Reid drops his plan to add the DREAM Act to the defense bill!
