On Tuesday, we alerted you to CA SB 930, currently awaiting action in the CA Assembly.

SB 930 was placed “on suspension” by the Appropriations committee on Wednesday.  Bills that will cost the state $150,000 or more were examined by the appropriations committees in both the Assembly and Senate.  The process of holding bills of this fiscal impact is called “suspense.”  The committees meet biannually to take up the suspense files, and then pass bills out of committee that either fall below a set cost threshold or are agreed upon by the committee.

The bill has stalled, but it is not dead yet!  The CA Assembly is currently adjourned until Monday, August 9th and Friday, August 13th is the last day that the fiscal committees can report a bill to the Floor for a vote.  We will keep you updated if SB 930 appears as if it will be removed from “suspension” and receive a vote.

Thank you for all your phone calls opposing SB 930!
